Sammy Herring earned his NC Home Inspector license the thorough way: months of classroom training, hands-on field work alongside Focused Property Inspections’ Certified Master Inspectors, an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector (CPI®) designation, and a methodical, no-shortcuts approach to learning every system in a house. Sammy’s territory centers on Beulaville and reaches across Duplin, Sampson, Wayne, Lenoir, and Pender counties — a stretch of eastern North Carolina where dependable inspection coverage is hard to come by. Many homes here rely on wells and septic systems, and Sammy coordinates water quality, septic, WDIR, and every other ancillary service in a single appointment with one report. Before inspections, Sammy spent his career finding what others miss. Six and a half years as a Lenoir County sheriff’s deputy — where he led SWAT team training and earned a Sheriff’s Commendation — and two more as a professional investigator taught him to observe methodically, document precisely, and write reports that hold up under scrutiny. Add a hands-on background in residential construction, frame carpentry, and equipment repair, and you get an inspector who doesn’t just spot problems — he understands how they got there. A Beulaville resident who grew up in the area and holds a BA in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Wesleyan, Sammy has also coached high school athletes in the same communities he now serves.
